Peugeot has finally unveiled the E-3008, an all-electric, four-wheel-drive family SUV with a range of up to 700 kilometers. The car’s interior was revealed earlier this summer, and just days ago, a photo of the exterior leaked. But now, we have a full set of images and specifications for the production-ready model.
The Peugeot E-3008 is Peugeot’s first four-wheel-drive electric car with a long range. This is made possible by the fact that the car is the first to be built on the new STLA platform. This modular platform is designed for electric cars and will be used for a wide range of vehicles, from small cars to large SUVs.
The Peugeot E-3008 is available with two battery sizes. The smaller battery has a net capacity of 73 kWh and provides a range of 525 kilometers with front-wheel drive. It is mated to a 210-horsepower motor that can accelerate the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.7 seconds.
The larger battery also has a net capacity of 73 kWh, but it is paired with two motors, one on each axle, to provide four-wheel drive. This gives the car a combined output of 320 horsepower and a 0-100 km/h time of 6.4 seconds. The range with four-wheel drive is 425 kilometers.
The Peugeot E-3008 is a significant step forward for Peugeot and the STLA platform. It is a stylish, practical, and powerful electric SUV with a long range. The car is expected to arrive in dealerships in 2024.
If you need even more range, a 98 kWh battery pack is available. This gives the E-3008 a range of 700 km. This version has 230 horsepower and is likely front-wheel drive.
Fast charging is possible at 160 kW, which is not exceptional, but should be enough for most people. The E-3008 also has V2L, so you can use it to power external devices.
The new E-3008 is 9.5 cm longer than its predecessor, moving it from the compact to the mid-size CUV segment. At 4.54 meters long, it is only slightly shorter than the Volkswagen ID.4.
The E-3008 is also wider and taller, by 5.4 cm and 2 cm respectively. It has a ground clearance of 19.8 cm.
The E-3008 has a practical boot with a capacity of 520 liters. This is average for the segment and should be sufficient for most families.
Overall, the new E-3008 is a larger, more practical, and longer-range SUV than its predecessor. It is a well-rounded vehicle that should appeal to a wide range of buyers.
The towing capacity is similar, with a range of 1,200 to 1,350 kg depending on the version. This is not bad, but there are competitors with higher capacities, making caravans a more viable option.
The interior features a new screen that is now mounted on top of the dashboard instead of being integrated into it. It is a 21-inch curved screen, but it is optional. It comes standard on the GT model.
Otherwise, the interior is similar to what we have come to expect from Peugeot, with a high-quality feel, interesting materials, and attractive design.
In addition to the E-3008, there will also be a larger E-5008, which will be available in early 2024.
Deliveries of the E-3008 will begin in the winter of 2024.
