Antonio Pintus best coach of Serie A 2020/21. The Gold Chronometer belongs to him

A week that he will remember for a long time: after having lifted the Champions League with Real Madrid to the sky of Paris on Saturday evening, this morning Antonio Pintus received the news that he had won the Golden Time Trial as the best athletic trainer of Serie A in the season 2020/2021; an award that he obtained from the FIGC Technical Sector – according to the opinion of the same colleagues, who expressed themselves with an online vote – for the last championship in which he was in the technical staff of Inter alongside Antonio Conte, already winner of the Golden bench for the same year.

“The athletic trainer – underlined the president of the Technical Sector, Demetrio Albertini – is an increasingly fundamental role for the success of a season. The Golden Chronometer is a coveted recognition that is part of the programmatic line of the Technical Sector, which aims to enhance the various technical figures within a football staff “.

“I am very honored, and also thrilled, for this recognition” commented Pintus, letting all his feelings shine through as soon as I received the news. “This award – continued the current Blancos coach – is important because it is given by your own colleagues. It is a title to be shared with all the Inter staff ”.

Saturday was the third Champions League won by Antonio Pintus in his career, all obtained as a coach of Real Madrid.

In the ranking of the votes of the Gold Chronometer – in which all the licensed trainers of last season of Serie A expressed their preference – behind Pintus, who received 10 votes, Paolo Barbero (last season at ‘Hellas Verona is currently in Turin, with 6 preferences) and Matteo Osti (AC Milan’s athletic trainer, who received 4 votes).

Alongside the Gold Chronometer, the Technical Sector also awarded the athletic trainers of the other two professional championships, namely the Serie B and Serie C 2020/2021. As for the cadet championship, Fabio Trentin received the silver chronometer, last year in the coaching staff of Venezia, then promoted to the top flight. “I am really happy – underlined Trentin – with the path taken; a non-trivial path. I share this recognition with the coach, Paolo Zanetti, with the staff and with an extraordinary group of players ”.

The bronze chronometer, for the best athletic trainer of the Serie C 2020/2021, went to Alberto Bartali from Ternana. “It is – Bartali commented – an award given by colleagues, which recognizes the work not only of mine, but of the whole rossoverde team, which last year did something extraordinary. This recognition is only partly mine, because I am the ‘owner’ of the post, but it is also the coach, the president, the director, the team and all my collaborators who are very good. It is everyone’s prize ”.
