2025 Ford Maverick Addresses Previous Concerns for $27,890

Ford has responded to customer feedback by adding all-wheel drive to the hybrid model, along with other updates.

Ford's Maverick has consistently enjoyed strong demand since its introduction in 2022, with the automaker struggling to keep up with customer interest. For 2025, Ford has updated the Maverick, incorporating customer feedback to further enhance an already popular truck, which now starts at $27,890.

The 2025 Ford Maverick features a refreshed design with new angular headlights, a redesigned grille, and a more stylish lower front fascia. Higher trim levels offer LED headlights and 19-inch wheel options. Additionally, the vehicle is available in a few new color choices, including Velocity Blue and Eruption Green.

Many customers will feel heard when they see the new interior improvements. The biggest change is to the infotainment screen—a relatively massive 13.2-inch display, which Ford claims is the largest in its class. The new screen replaces both the old 8-inch screen and the oddly shaped and sized cubby that sat next to it. Maverick forums were filled with customers who felt like the latter was wasted space and many struggled to find much use in it. But it's gone now, replaced with Ford's most advanced Sync 4 system, which is standard on all Mavericks. That new infotainment system is coupled with a new digital gauge cluster that replaces the old analog gauges.

Ford added wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an optional 360-degree camera, and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist with Pro Trailer Backup Assist to the Maverick's cabin. The latter two features are likely more useful on the Maverick than on other Ford trucks, as most Maverick owners may not be as experienced with towing. These features are standard on Lariat and Tremor trims. All Mavericks come with Ford Co-Pilot360, which includes active safety features like automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and automatic LED high beams. Higher trim levels offer adaptive cruise control with lane-centering, stop-and-go, and speed limit sign-recognition technology.

The biggest customer request for the hybrid Maverick is the addition of all-wheel drive, which is now available and still delivers 40 mpg in the city. Additionally, the hybrid Maverick can now be equipped with the 4K Towing Package, increasing its maximum trailer capacity to 4,000 pounds due to an updated CVT.

The Ford Maverick's Tremor Off-Road Package has now become its own distinct model, similar to the F-150 Tremor. It features the same off-road-focused upgrades as the previous Tremor Package, including an off-road-tuned suspension, skid plates, an advanced 4WD system, a twin-clutch rear differential, 4WD lock, unique wheels, and all-terrain tires, along with some additional unique styling elements.

Ford was wise to listen to customer feedback and quickly improve its incredibly popular truck. When you have a hit on your hands, you don't take it for granted. And the new Maverick keeps the good parts of its recipe while improving on its shortcomings. Now if only Ford would replace the rotary shifter with a lever, customers might not have anything else to complain about.
